Christians in North County have come together to make a difference in the lives of students at Maryland Elementary School in Vista. Our Anglican volunteers provide much of the leadership and vision for these ministry opportunities in North County San Diego.
After school care and tutoring is where this vision began. Volunteers partner with students to help them learn to read. These volunteers come from many churches around the county. This time develops the child’s future academic abilities and builds a relationship with the tutor.
From these relationships the children are invited to start a process of Christian Formation. The process we use is based on The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This all happens on the school grounds and with the blessing of the school administration and of course the parents.
Through the development of these relationships Wednesday Bible Studies have begun and a Sunday afternoon worship service is being developed. It is exciting to see not only students engaged in Christian community but staff and parents as well. God is at work in North County San Diego.
